Three restaurants in Washington, D.C., have made Bon Appétit's list of "Top 50 Nominees for America’s Best New Restaurants 2018," described as an "eclectic, inspiring, and very delicious" crop.

Ellē is a cafe, bakery, restaurant and bar in Mount Pleasant that's helmed by Executive Chef Brad Deboy. The restaurant nabbed No. 1 in Washinton Post food critic Tom Sietsema's Spring Dining Guide.

The Line is a new hotel in Adams Morgan housed inside a 110-year-old church. Its three restaurants are A Rake’s Progress (by Spike Gjerde of Baltimore’s Woodberry Kitchen), Brothers and Sisters and Spoken English (both by Erik Bruner-Yang of DC’s Maketto).

Maydān, near the U Street Corrider, was opened by Rose Previte of Compass Rose and led by Chefs Gerald Addison and Chris Morgan.

It's not the first time local restaurants have cracked the famous annual ranking. Last year, Himitsu, Timber Pizza, and Pineapple & Pearls all made the Top 50. And in 2016, Bad Saint made it to the finals, ranking No. 2.

On August 14, Bon Appétit' will name the restuaurants that earned a place in the Hot 10.
