Are you ready for a victory parade 44 years in the making?

Monumental Sports & Entertainment, the Capitals' owner, has confirmed the details of D.C.'s parade celebrating the team's Stanley Cup championship win.

As first reported by Mark Segraves of NBC Washington, the event will take place on Tuesday, June 12, at 11 a.m.

The parade will start at Constitution Ave. and 17th St. NW and proceed along Constitution Ave. to 7th St. NW, where it will turn right and finish in a rally in the middle of the National Mall, with the Capitol as a backdrop.

Monumental submitted a permit application with the National Park Service on Thursday morning for a victory parade that "100,000 + +" fans are expected to attend. Judging by the crowds that have swarmed Downtown D.C. during the playoffs, the parade will be massive.

"I think it's going to be much bigger than everyone is expecting," Monumental CEO Ted Leonsis told ESPN after Game 5. "We want to be able to say thank you to people in Virginia and Maryland and Washington, D.C. My goal is to create something that elevates and unites all of the people in our community, so people think happy thoughts about Washington, D.C."

Caps fans are encouraged to take Metro or rideshare, as parking is extremely limited near the parade route. Plan your trip with the latest Metro service information here. And get all the details on parking restrictions and road closures here.

Additional details, like the speaking program for the rally on the Mall, will be released soon.
