It’s Food Section Wednesday and I’ve got good food, good drinks and tango – like the dance.  Del Campo in Penn Quarter is celebrating their first anniversary next Tuesday so they are closing down the restaurant to celebrate with a private party with live Tango while you eat.  Part of the proceeds go to La Cocina in NoVa and you’ll need a reservation to get in.  Information is here.

Celebrating their birthday today is gas station giant Wawa. They’re celebrating their 50th anniversary and giving out free coffee at any of their locations. I can think of two right off the top of my head – one in Woodbridge and one off 29 in Gainsville. Fun little fact: Wawa is the Native American word for the Canada Goose.

We’ve been wondering what the deal is with the Washington Monument since the big east coast quake and Kelly found out some information. The monument opens on May 12 and tickets will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis. But if you don’t want to fight the tourists, starting today at 10 a.m. you can reserve tickets for May 13, the next day.
