Yes, you read that correctly.  Brian Littrell, one-fifth of the legendary boy band Backstreet Boys, hinted at the possibility of a tour with British girl group the Spice Girls.

British newspaper The Sun interviewed Littrell, who dropped the bomb saying, “We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls.”

Immediately, it was 1998 again.

The Spice Girls haven’t performed together since the closing ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, which was the first performance from the group since their brief reunion stint in 2007.

Chances are the tour will only feature four of the five original members of the girl group. Posh Spice (Victoria Beckham) spoke briefly after the 2012 Olympic performance, saying, “Thank you to everybody, but no more.”

While the Backstreet Boys have been avidly touring since they reunited a couple years ago, the chances of a joint tour doesn’t seem likely until 2015.  The Boys are touring solo this summer and are slated for the Backstreet Boys Cruise in October.
